Ferris Provincial Park

We took a trip up to our Private Base Camp this weekend and did a little work, Saturday morning we decided to head off to Ferris Provincial Park where we stayed at site number 9. I didn’t really know what to expect going in but it had some pleasant surprises.

We found that Ferris has a pretty nice trail system. We were not here for long but really wanted to take a walk and see what the place was about. The trails are pretty well kept and seem to be pretty well travelled. We also found some interesting flowers along the way.

Right on the parks crest is a suspension bridge so we were interested in finding it and see what it was about. It was really neat, the bridge extends over the water and acts as a footpath into the park.

It’s always nice to find a great place to just sit and talk, enjoy the view and maybe have a snack.

This weekend was very warm and humid so it made things a little more difficult but we pushed through the trails in spite of ourselves. This is at the top of our final climb on our way back to our site.

Welcome to the Friends of Ferris – Volunteers supporting Ferris Provincial Park

Ferris offers car camping on over 150 sites in two campground loops (Valleyview and Bedrock). These sites can accommodate equipment ranging from tents only to large trailers.

Valleyview Loop is set atop a forested drumlin, with some campsites providing a view across the Trent River Valley. The Bedrock Loop has some electrical campsites and is just a short walk to the playground and day use picnic areas.
