This is a Red breasted Nuthatch that I saw at Point Pelee National Park. The Red breasted nuthatch primarily eats insects and can be seen zipping around the trees. They walk up and down the limbs and trunk and direction doesn’t matter. The Nuthatch can walk upside down and feed upside down while foraging for it’s food. This is a rather small bird and looks similar to the White-breasted Nuthatch but they have more of an orange colour on their chests.
