This Blue Jay crying for peanuts that we fill our feeder with. We keep a peanut filled feeder for Blue Jays as they are spectacular birds and we love to see them in our yard. Here in Ontario Canada Blue Jays are almost everywhere and stay all winter.
They love to grab peanuts from the feeder and then fly to a nearby tree to crack the peanut open. This Blue Jay is young and molting, previously it’s parents were getting the peanuts for it. It seems as if it believes if it just scrams at the peanuts like it did with it’s parents, the peanuts would come. After crying for peanuts the Blue Jay realized they weren’t just going to come to him and flew off in an outrage.
