Camping at Earl Rowe Provincial Park
This was a short trip but a great trip. We only stayed at Earl Rowe Provincial Park for one night but we learned very quickly that this is a nice area to adventure.
The sites seem pretty small in the area we were in but it was private enough and comfortable. What is interesting is that it is split up by some roadways so to get into the Riverside Campground area where we stayed at site 6, you were given a barcode to scan to enter the gate.
I really liked Earl Rowe, it was different to pull up to the gatehouse and find it branches out from the street. That was quite unique and our campsite was close to the entrance of the trail, we were able to have breakfast and sit awhile before heading off to hike through the area and see what we could find.
Some fun at Earl Rowe
Not to judge or intrude on anyone else’s adventuring but I saw something that I thought was pretty funny. It seemed as if these people up the road from our campsite walked into the park or something. I found it strange that I didn’t see any vehicle at any point at their site and there was also a shopping cart to move their gear around, and not a regular shopping cart, one of those short ones.
I couldn’t resist taking this picture.

Ontario Parks cares
As we walked we found this at the park to and I thought it was just a great idea:

Pigeons at Earl Rowe
Then I found something I really enjoyed, I found two feral rock doves. I own pigeons and have seen many wild pigeons in cities but have never seen a pair out in the woods roosting in a tree.
I really like pigeons! You can see that these ones have got the wild eye!

If you are interested in simply going for a nice walk, this place is great.

Wild Picnic Tables!
One thing I can say about Earl Rowe is that it is not lacking in places to sit down if you feel the need for a break. There are picnic tables everywhere, it gets to the point where you begin to believe that Earl Rowe must be the spawning ground of the wild picnic table. They are everywhere, in fields, in the middle of the woods, on the banks of the water, actually in the water…everywhere.
