This was a rest stop on the highway between Mississagi and Awenda Provincial parks and was a very nice place to stop and eat.
During our drive up to Mississagi, Meki reminisced about camping when he was younger. He went on about the rest stops and that we could just pull over at one and do whatever we needed to. We got that opportunity on our way to Awenda. He was right, what a lovely stopover. The road is unassuming, gravel road leads to a large round-a-bout, there were vault washrooms on the side of the parking lot and picnic tables, some tucked up into the trees on a slight hill in the landscape. There was a trail that lead you down to more remote picnic tables and a bit further down there was a stream, giving a wonderful ambience to the surroundings. It was a very nice break from the car and we were easily able to make our lunch and enjoy in comfort.
