Long Beach Conservation Area

Sorry, no picture. To be honest this place was kind of disappointing.

I wasn’t expecting the gate house to be right at the road, this is the first, usually there is a bit of a road before coming to the entrance. It is a busy place, I’m not sure I understand the appeal. The camp sites are very close together there is no privacy and I believe that would be why it was mainly trailers. There were no trails that we could find and the beach was nice, we walked along that for a bit and it is also very busy. We did see some shorebirds and walked out as far as we could to see the waterfowl. The thing that was neat was there was a convention of Boler Trailer owners, they had the year and model on each of their trailers and were more than willing to talk about them. We met some nice people and heard about some of their adventures, that was my favorite part of Long Beach. I’m not in much of a rush to go back, although its more that we do not have a lot in common with this style of camping.

We keep going back and forth in our conversation about equipment as to which direction we would like to head, more, or less. Interested in the smaller Boler trailers we took a look and if we were to get a trailer it would be something like this, in size at least, or a small teardrop. The Boler trailers are very small and light and one of the first trailers to have a full fiberglass shell. Very interesting little trailers. I feel like we will sway away from towing and campers and swing more towards a minimalist, backpacking type of experience.

Below is an example of what Boler trailers are, they are typically very light and can bee towed even by a small car.
