I am new to pigeons and to pigeon racing. This is me letting pigeons fly for first time in their life. The birds are new to me and this is my first loft, it is important that you continue to be loft flying racing pigeons. I am very new to this and have started racing pigeons in the Niagara Region. I am a member of the Canadian Pigeon Racing Union and all of the birds are tagged with bands that indicate they are mine. To start off in pigeons you first need birds. All of my pigeons were gifted to me from some really good pigeon flyers. Racing pigeon loft flying is important to keep them in shape and give them a little freedom in the sky. It is an anxious moment when you open that loft and letting pigeons out first time. In this first liberation from the racing pigeon loft the pigeons did what was expected of them. They stayed close to the loft and tested their wings for flight. To watch all this happen is really amazing as these birds are incredible. They are intelligent and now I can truly say that pigeons are athletes.
