We went on another short birding adventure out to Turkey Point Provincial Park. The park seems like it’s a huge attraction for Mountain Bike riders, there are a lot of trails in the area.
Birding at Turkey Point Provincial Park
There wasn’t a ton of bird activity but the American Robin were in abundance here as well as the Eastern Wood Pewee. Camping at Turkey Point we had a very nice private site where we again used the car to sleep in. The birds were quiet this trip and it seems to me that it is mostly because of the abundance of people.
Hiking the trails
One of the trails we walked posted a notice to be careful in this area because it is loaded with ticks. Taking the proper precautions we continued on our way. On most of these trails you have to realize that they are shared and groups of serious mountain bikers come through. As we hike we do our best to respect those around us and either stay out of the way, or off a trail completely if it seems appropriate to us.

Camping in the car
Still working on setting up the Corolla car camper the way we want it but so far it seems like it will work nicely. With all this time in the car we have learned that having a good air mattress makes all the difference in the world. This time I brought a tarp that normally would cover our tent. Although it probably wasn’t necessary but I will keep it with us in case we decide we want the extra shade.
