We are no experts on this but eventually we made a choice and the Vortex Diamond Back HD binoculars are fantastic and were a bit of a game changer. The quality of the image you see through these is just amazing. Vortex binoculars are comparable to the much more expensive Swarovski binoculars.
Learning about binoculars
After some time reading and learning about Binoculars I was lost. How do we get the best bang for the buck. As we started out birding we were using older and borrowed pairs of binoculars. Because of this that drove the need to upgrade to something lighter and with a clearer image.
I took the time to understand binoculars and how they work. In this process I had to learn about eye relief, the field of view, close focus and interpupillary distance. It wasn’t difficult to understand, the hard parts is making the choice and committing to it.
Finally the pair that we chose and that are shown below are the Vortex Diamond Back HD 10 x 42 binoculars.
What comes with the Vortex binoculars
The Vortex binoculars come with a neck strap and a holster for carrying on your chest. Convenient clips help make carrying the binoculars in different ways very easy. The covers for the lenses are attached to the straps so you are unlikely to lose them while on a trail. As a result it makes for a quick deploy when you have spotted a bird. As people who have gotten into birding and trying to do so on a reasonable budget, the Vortex Diamond Back binoculars are well worth it.

Vortex Diamond Back binoculars are worth the money
One of the greatest things about these is that they have a lifetime warranty and the company has a reputation of being very good at honouring this. It also really helps that they are coming right out of Guelph Ontario.
