This is a simple video of a Hawk eating prey. It stayed there on the pole for about thirty minutes to finish it’s meal. On a pole in front of my house a small hawk landed holding its prey. I noticed and grabbed my scope and camera to film it. When there is hawk activity like this I do not let my pigeons out to fly. It was really cool to watch the hawk hold its prey, then start eating it right there. It held it down with it’s feet and ripped what appeared to be a small rodent apart. I think it may have been a Cooper’s Hawk but I find hawks hard to identify. I would also say that although hawk eating squirrel here is unlikely. It seemed more this was a hawk eating rat or mouse for dinner.
